COLLEGE SCHOLARSHIPS

Each year Hawaiʻi Self Storage offers $4,000 Student Scholarships to high school seniors to pursue and obtain a college degree. This program is designed to help and support students financially to develop into future leaders in our community. Applicants must complete an essay answering 4 required questions. Essays are reviewed by high school counselors and HSS team members, and selected based on quality of content and financial need. Students receive $1,000 per year and must retain a “B” average to renew their scholarship for up to 4 years. The program was established in 2004, and within the past 3 years Hawaiʻi Self Storage has committed over $108,000 to this program.

LOCKERS FOR LITERACY

Hawaiʻi Self Storage created “Lockers for Literacy” - a program designed to promote and support literacy and reading aloud to children in the community. Through this program, $2 from every new locker rental is donated to a fund that is used to purchase books, approved and selected by Read to Me International. HSS team members along with our mascot “Mr. Safety”, deliver the books and also read to the students at each school. In our first year of this program, we have delivered 1,715 books to 11 public elementary schools in our community.
